Up to 10,000 units of new housing.
The Suffolk Downs development site is proposed to contain a total of 17-million square feet across East Boston and Revere. There are two proposals submitted for the site, which vary depending on whether Boston wins Amazon's second headquarters.
If Boston wins Amazon's second headquarters, developers have proposed a commercial-heavy project containing 7,500 units of new housing. If Boston does not win the headquarters, developers have proposed 10,000 units of new housing. Both proposals include an important influx of new housing to the market on a site that currently contains no housing.
The comment period for the project is open until February 2nd. There is also a public meeting at Suffolk Downs on January 30th.
